World Cup 2014: The rest of the second group matches and Group matches for the third games

World Cup 2014 Rest of the Second group games

Ghana 2-2 Germany

This was Ghana's chance to turn up the odds on one of the top European country's at this World Cup,
but we all knew this would be a tough match between too height weight one fight to keep hopes alive to there country and the over trying to get top of the group.

The match had a good first half with both teams could have took the lead in this match that wasn't so easy for Germany that many people thought it would be with most of there players playing in the top German side Bayern Munich that won there league this year and Ghana had some good chances to make a statement in the first have to show that they are here to win this game, but they where able to keep the score at 0-0 to go in the first half with a very good score for both teams.

The second half began with both teams coming out the same as the first half both teams knowing they are still in the game and both where going for the win.

They where very even of each other with Germany on the back foot of some of the game before the first goal came giving Germany the lead from Götze in the 51 minute and this lead only lasting for three minutes, before Ghana got the goal to make the score 1-1 from A.Ayew goal in the 54 minute

Then with that goal for Ghana they started to get the front foot in the game because ten minutes later
Ghana got there second of the match to give them the lead to make Germany chance with the score at Ghana 2-1 Germany.

The scorer of Ghana's second goal was Gyan in the 63 minute.

Ghana tried very hard to hold onto this lead but they just couldn't hold on long enough because only nine minutes later Germany got the goal to make the score 2-2 from Klose goal who is trying to break a scoring record and he is one of the Germanys oldest players in there current squad getting the goal in the 71 minute.

Ghana did get a late chance to take all three points but they just could get it in, they where very unlikely not to win the game with a very good performance and they match Germany in all positions get them the second of a 2-2 draw that most people thought they wont have got a point, but they should have took all three.

There was one yellow card of the game for Ghana Muntari.

Nigeria 1-0 Bosnia-Hercegovina

Both teams knew this is a must win game to keep the hopes of getting through to the next round to the last sixteen with who ever wins this would keep their hopes still alive and then it would take it to the third and final game.

This wasn't one of the most exciting games of the second round of matches and it wasn't expecting much from it, but it did have a goal in the match to give one team the edge for the final game that was Nigeria with the stoke player Odemwingie scoring to make 1-0 to them the lead in the 29 minute.

The score stayed like this in till half time to leave the score at Nigeria 1-0 Bosnia-Hercegovina and the second half started leaving Bosnia-Hercegovina chasing to try to find that goal to change the game to try to make it another match with the team that scored first losing, but it wasn't too.

This left the score the same with both teams getting chances but only one of them was able to strike at the right time to get them this close win with only one goal in the game.

Belgium 1-0 Russia

Belgium second game was against a up coming Russia the same as Belgium trying to see how good there teams where and Russia are going to be the hosts of the 2018 World Cup after Brazil, now they are trying to build up a team to give them victory when they host the World Cup with there new coach.

There new coach Fabio Capello and Ex- England coach who took England to the last world cup in South Africa, also is one of the best paid coaches at this World Cup as well who has been given the job for trying to get them to build a squad to go far in this world cup.

Also to take them to glory in home soil in the next World Cup in 2018 but his first game at this world cup was not as good as they where hoping but it leaves them still in the running to get to the last sixteen.

The game started off quiet even with Belgium trying to get a win over the next World Cup holders and Russia trying to see how good there teams to see if they can go far in this World Cup and the next one they both played very well with no team looking like the winning with the score staying at Belgium 0-0 Russia HT score.

The second have was much the same but both teams trying to find something that would lead to a goal to give one of them the edge in this match and this came very late in the match with Belgium getting it in the 88 minute from time by Divock Origi scoring from a corner to clam the win with a very even match.

Russia was very unlikely not to get a point from this game with both teams looking for the three point to help them get into the last sixteen.

South Korea 2- 4 Algeria

South Korea came into this game with not a very good World Cup record and trying to make something happen for them by getting a win to give something back to their country.

The game start off with both teams in the game but when it reach the 20 minute mark that game turn to a one side game, because Algeria struck the first goal in the 26 minute by Slimani then not long after the kick off there was a goal in the 28 minute for Algeria scored by Halliche.

The game got more even again leaving South Korea was still in the match in till 10 minutes later and then Algeria got there third goal to try to finish off the game by Djabou in the 38 minute, HT finished Algeria 3- 0 South Korea.

After half time South Korea was able to get one back to make in the 50 minute by Son Heung-min to make the score Algeria 3-1 South Korea, but the score did stay this way for long because twelve minutes later Algeria got the fourth goal scored by Brahim in the 62 minute.

South Korea some how got another goal back to make the difference to only 2 goals with there second goal coming in the 72 minute from Koo Ja-cheol to make the score Algeria 4-2 South Korea, South Korea tried very hard to get a third but they couldn't get anymore goals.

The match end with the score Algeria 4-2 South Korea and there was three yellow cards of the game, one for Algeria Bougherra and South Korea with two yellow cards Lee Yong, Han Kook-young.

This leaves South Korea looking to the next world cup in Russia in 2018.

USA 2-2 Portugal

USA went into this game going for the win with a low Portugal losing there first game of the World Cup. going into this one knowing they have to try to beat this USA side.

Portugal got the break in this game with a early goal from Nani in the first 5 minutes to put Portugal on the front foot, Nani got the goal with a right footed shot.

This stand as the score in till half time USA 0-1 Portugal.

Now USA knew they need a goal to put the game back on level terms and with Portugal one goal up, this left them thinking they might get their first win of the World Cup here, but it wasn't to be because in the 64 minute Jermaine Jones to put a strike in to make the game levelled with the game going into the 70th minute.

With temperatures getting quiet hot 90s and 62% humidity drinks breaks where given.

Then in the 81st minute the USA got another break by score a second from Clint Dempsey with an attempt from a close range to chance the score from 1-0 down to 2-1 put on Portugal.

Then when it looked like USA took all free points Portugal hit back to give there self a point in the 90 of minute of the game with the goal coming from Silvestre Varela with the assist coming from Cristiano Ronaldo to make the game at Portugal 2-2 USA and the score end as this to give both teams a point.

Yellow Cards

USA - Jermaine Jones

Honduras 1-2 Ecuador

Honduras and Ecuador both had games with England for the warm up games for the World Cup, before they travelled to Brazil and now they both must face each other with both side pretty evenly matched, also they are both the unlikely teams to get out of there group.

The game start off like most people expected a very dirty game with lots of tackles and fouls and this carried on threw the rest of the game in both half's with Ecuador making 15 fouls and Honduras 16 fouls.

The first goal came in the 31st minute for Honduras who was able to take the lead from Carlo Costly to try to give Honduras the edge.

It didn't last long for Honduras with the lead only lasting three minutes before Ecuador was able to make it all level to keep the game even with match playing like it could go either way.

Enner Valencia score it aged 22.

The first half end with the score being Honduras 1-1 Ecuador.

The second half was the same as the first and still not much between them. But in the 65 minutes Ecuador Enner Valencia again was able to score another goal to steal game from Honduras, with Honduras try to get one back just couldn't do enough to get one back.

The game end Honduras 1-2 Ecuador

Yellow cards

Ecuador - Enner Valenica, Jefferson Montero, Antonio Valencia

Honduras - Jerry Bengtson, Victor Bernadez

Argentina 1-0 Iran

This should have been one of easiest games of the group stage for Argentina with them up against Iran who have been one of the teams no one expects much from up against one of the high rated teams that could win this years world cup.

Argentina who had Lionel Messi is rated one of the best players in the Spanish League La Liga how is aged 27 and current club FC Barcelona, they also have Sergio Agüero that plays for Man City,
Javier Mascherano, Marcos Rojo.

Iran have players Ashkan Dejagah's, Andranik Teymourian for the game.

The was two Yellow cards of the game both for Iran - Javad Nekounam, Masoud Shojaei.

Iran start off in the game quiet well not being out played much within the first ten minutes, but Argentina had some of the best chances by Iran did get some sort of chance in the first half and even with Argentina stars they couldn't come up with nothing in the first half.

With the game still open for both sides that could go either way and at 0-0 at Half time, it was a great result for a Iran team that would be happy with this and was expected to be in least 2 to 3 goals down by now.

The second half started like the first with both not taking there chances when they get them and this was not one of the best games of the second group stages and could have turn at to be one of the boring games with not much that much between in the score line.

It looked like the score like to stay at 0-0 that would have give Iran a very happy point and it would be disappointment for Argentina if it stayed like this dropping two points.

Iran had a penalty shout not given to me that could have chance the game.

In the last minute in 90th minute Lionel Messi was able to steal the three point from Iran that let Argentina take it from them that was disappointing for a Iran side that near took a point only lost out by minutes, Lionel Messi was not playing the best but was able to get the goal.

That put Argentina in a good position to get to the last sixteen.

Japan 0-0 Greece

Japan against Greece was a very average game with not a lot expected from the game by we did expect in least one goal, but it wasn't to be and it was a straight forward 0-0 game with both getting chances neither team could get the goal.

Even with a point this gives them both one still giving them a chance of both getting to the last sixteen and out of group C.

Japan had advantage when Greece went down to ten men when captain Konstantinos Katsouranis that was sent off after a second yellow card before half time in Natal.

Japan couldn't take nothing out of them down to 10 men with the game ending with stalemate

Greece best chance came from Fulham striker Konstantinos Mitroglou limped off the pitch in the 34 minutes and Japans best chance was from Yoshito Okubo that missed from just a couple of yards.

This leaves the team with one point going into their final game of the group stage.

This left the score at Greece 0-0 Japan.

Yellow Cards

Japan - Makoto Hasebe

Greece - Vasilis Torosidis, Georgios Samaras

Greece Red Card - Konstantinos Katsouranis

Colombia 2-1 Ivory Coast

Colombia came out with great force even without there star player Radamel Falcao not even able to play in this World Cup because of injury.

Ivory had some good player to pick out of like Didier Drogba, Wilfried Bony, Gervinho up front to be a goal threat.

Colombia and the Ivory Coast game is being played at Estadio Nacional in Brasilia. The game started off with both teams being even likely match with both trying to get the goal, with both teams getting chance but not being able to get the goal the games first half ended 0-0.

The second half started with both teams knowing that there are three points up for grabs and this would make a different with a edge in the group.

The first goal was for Colombia in the 64 minute from the James Rodríguez who is Colombia replacement for the missing Radamel Falcao who is on his way for the golden boot.

Then six minutes later Colombia got another goal but this time it was from Juan Quintero in the 70 minute that look to have steal the three points for Colombia, but Ivory Coast wasn't going to give up the game that easy.

Ivory Coast started the fight back with three minute later in the 73 minute Gervinho scored to give Ivory Coast so hope to make the score Ivory Coast 1-2 Colombia.

But the Ivory Coast tried their best to get a goal back and had chance just couldn't find the back of the net and Ivory Coast did get five minutes in injury time at the end of the game.

Ivory couldn't find the second goal that left Colombia wining 2-1 and that means they have got another three points.

With this second win for Colombia beating the Ivory Coast that means they will get to the last sixteen from group C.

Yellow Cards

Ivory Coast - Didier Zokora, Cheick Tioté

Cameroon 0-4 Croatia

Cameroon knowing a lose would most likely mean that they would be out of the World Cup 2014, The game only took 11th minutes for it first goal to go to Croatia getting it with Ivica Olic getting the goal to give Croatia a early lead in the game.

Cameroon tried to get stable in the game but they couldn't come up with much and just five minute before the break Cameroons went down to ten men, when Alexandre Song lose he's cool lashed at Mandzukic's back as tracked Croatia's striker and then referee had no hesitation to give the Barcelona player a straight red.

Then the first half time finished Croatia 1-0 Cameroon.

The second half Cameroon didn't get much better and looked lost without injured captain Samuel Eto'o and sent off player Alexandre Song.

The second goal came not long after the second half started in the 48 minute of the match, when Ivan Perisic got the goal for Croatia.

Then Cameroon weren't able to stop letting goals in because Croatia got their third in the 61st minute from Mario Mandzukic who was then got a second goal for himself in the 73 minute to make the score Croatia 4-0 Cameroon, but Mario Mandzukic was unable to get a third for his self.

The African time had more problems near the end of the game with the Cameroon players Moukandjo and Assou-Ekotto getting into an argument between each other in stoppage time, when Benoit Assou-Ekotto thrust his head at the other team mate Benjamin Moukandjo this incident caused them to get very nasty at each other.

Cameroons best chances came in dying seconds on the match when substitute player Pierre Webo's Header made Croatia goal keeper Stipe Pletikosa make a very good save, to Cameroon for getting anymore goals back.

Croatia player Mandzukic that scored was Croatia's player of the year in 2012 and 2013.

Now this mean with the score of losing 4-0 means Cameroon will not get past the group stage and into the second round for the second time, after their lose to Croatia.

Red Cards

Cameroon- Alexandre Song

Yellow Card

Croatia- Eduardo

World Cup 2014 The Third Group games

Ecuador 0-0 France

France was expected to get an least one goal against Ecuador that is one of the South American country's with the heat advantage and this wasn't the case for both teams with them both being unable to score in this game.

Both teams got chance but neither could take it to give them the lead and mostly likely the winner.

France couldn't keep up there winning start to this 2014 World Cup by they still finish top of group E even with this 0-0 score.

But this is bad new with this draw for Ecuador because this score puts them out of this years World Cup 2014 and we wont see them in the last sixteen.

Queens Park Ranger forward Loic Remy and Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema went close to giving France a goal, but they couldn't leaving the game goalless and keeping the French angry.

The Ecuador's side got worster when there captain was sent off Antonio Valencia and Antonio has been sent off twice in his last four matches for Ecuador, also he the first player in Ecuador history to be sent off at the World Cup.

Leaving the game at France 0-0 Ecuador.

The last two time France has played South American country's at the World Cup they both have end with 0-0 draws.

Yellow Cards

Ecuador - Frickson Erazo

Honduras 0-3 Switzerland

Honduras was outplayed in this game against a better team Switzerland that started off the score pretty earlier in the game the 6 minute from Xherdan Shaqiri to put the Switzerland on course to take the three points.

Then before the first half break Xherdan scored again for the Switzerland in the 31st minute to put them 2-0 up before the break leaving Honduras needing goals.

The first half ended Switzerland 2-0 Honduras.

The second half didn't bring much for Honduras still unable to score a goal, but Switzerland was able to take something from the second half with enough goal Xherdan Shaqiri to make it 3-0 in the 71 minute.

Honduras was unable to reply in this game leaving the game at 3-0 to put them out of the World Cup and giving Switzerland the three points.

Xherdan Shaqiri who plays for Bayern Munich has became the second player to score hat-trick 2014 World Cup behind he's Bayern Munich team mate Germanys Thomas Muller that score his against Portugal.

Switzerland have now scored more than one goal in there first half for the first time since 1966 World Cup.

Yellow Cards

Honduras - Jerry Palacios

Algeria 1-1 Russia

Russia and Algeria where both playing for a place in the last sixteen with both wanting the three points and Russia who will be hosting the next World Cup in 2018 where hoping to get as far as possible to see how good there team is.

The game started with a lot up for grab each team was hoping to find the net first and within six minutes of the game we got the opening goal for Russia Alexander Kokorin, when Dmitri Kombarov's left wing cross got to a unmarked Alexander Kokorin that was able to headed in to make it 1-0.

The game was able to stay at the score for the rest of the 45 minute in till half time with the score still at Russia 1-0 Algeria.

Second half start with both teams getting chances like they did in the first half and Algeria knowing that they need a goal to get back into the game, In the 60 minute Algeria got back into the game with a goal from Islam Slimani to get the equaliser.

With the score staying like this, this would mean Algeria would be in the last sixteen and the score didn't chance even with Russia pushing for the goal they just couldn't find one that put them out of the World Cup in Brazil in till they host the next one in 2018.

This mean Algeria reach the last sixteen for the first time in there history and the Russia coach has been trying to build a team that can win there World Cup in 2018 which has let him see which player he wants to keep, also which he want to replace in time for next World Cup.

Algeria have failed to keep clean sheets for the last 11th time out of their 12 World Cup games.

Now Russia have gone out of the World Cup for the last three time they where in the World Cup of the group stages which was 1994, 2002, 2014.

Russia coach is ex England coach Fabio Capello.

The game ended with the score at Belgium 1-0 South Korea

Meaning South Korea is out of this years World Cup 2014 and Belgium are into the last sixteen.

South Korea got 16 shots and Belgium got 15 shots.

Belgium's last six World Cup goals have came in the last 20 minutes of the game and South Korea have only had one clean sheet in there last 12 World Cup games.

Belgium have been able to have back to back clean sheets at the World Cup for the third time.

Yellow Cards

Belgium - Mousa Dembélé

South Korea - Hong Jeong-Ho

Red Card Belgium - Steven Defour

Nigeria 2-3 Argentina

Nigeria went in as the unlikely winner of this game because of the names they where up against but the game was not as straight forwards as it looked on paper.

The game started off like people expected with Argentina taking the lead within 3 minutes of the game from Lionel Messi and that didn't last long only 80 seconds, when Nigeria hit back with Ahmed Musa getting the goal for them.

Just before the break Lionel Messi scored again to turn the game for Argentina in the 45th minute that end the first with the score staying at 2-1.

The second half chanced the game again with Nigeria getting another goal back from Ahmed Musa to level the score at 2-2 and this means Musa is the first player in Nigeria history to twice score two goals in a World Cup match.

Then again this was not long in till enough goal from Argentina was scored only 3 minutes later in the 50 minute from Marcos Rojo to score his first goal for Argentina.

Nigeria tried to reply to them by trying to get another goal pass them, they just couldn't find the goal on the day to make the score even.

Now this means Messi has score 10 goals in his last 8 matches for Argentina.

Argentina was also unable to score enough go leaving the score at Nigeria 2-3 Argentina which both teams play really well and it could have gone any way.

Yellow Cards

Nigeria - Juwon Oshaniwa, Kenneth Omeruo

Cameroon 1-4 Brazil

Cameroon carried on there weak performance in this World Cup against the host nation that didn't let Cameroon getting the game enough to with Brazil scoring four against Cameroon.

It wasn't completely a one side game because Cameroon was able to score one goal against a host nation that gave a little lift but would still be useful for Cameroon's goal difference.

Most of the game was about the home country Brazil putting there stamp on this years 2014 World Cup by getting another win under their belt to make sure they win this group easy and take them to the last sixteen.

The game first half ended with the score being Cameroon 1-2 Brazil and with the score being close.

Croatia 1-3 Mexico

Croatia came into this game knowing they must will this game against a very good Mexico side who would be difficulty to stop and Croatia does have a star player ex Tottenham player, now Real Madrid player Modric.

Croatia have never won their final group game of a World Cup ever with three loses, one Draw and now they must try to over come this to give them any chances.

The first half of the game was evenly matched with both teams not able to break the dead lock and this keep the score at Croatia 0-0 Mexico.

The second half had more goals with Mexico getting the first from Rafael Marquez getting the goal to break the dead lock in the 72nd minute, but the goals didn't stop there with Mexico hitting another not long after Andrés Guardado got the second in the 75 minute.

Japan 1-4 Colombia

This is Japan final game of the Group stage that is hoping to upset a very good Colombia side who is still doing well even without Falco with there up coming forward, James Rodriguez that has scored in his last five appearances for them and looks to being going for the golden boot of the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

Japan where very unlikely in there first game not to steal the three against Ivory Coast but where over turn by them by having been giving there all to try to make it to the last sixteen.

The game started off with both teams getting chances to score the first goal but Colombia hit first with Juan Guillermo Cuadrado scoring it in the 17th minute of the game with Colombia trying to take control of the game.

Shinji Okazaki was able to bring back some joy to Japan with him getting the goal to take the game to 1-1 in the 45th minute goal before half time to make the game all even.

In three games Japan have played against Colombia there was the first goal they have scored against them, would this be the game that Japan won the game.

The second half came with both teams trying to get the edge to dominate the game that might lead to them taking that game, but again it was Colombia how took control in the goal scoring department with Jackson Martinez scoring in the 55th minute and this time there was no goal reply from Japan that led to Colombia getting goals.

Japan played well after that not letting another goal in till the 82nd minute but again Jackson Martinez was able to add another to make the score 3-1 leaving not much time for Japan to reply this would mean Japan would not take any points from this game.

Then right at the end of the game Japan weren't able to stop Colombia striker James Rodríguez to net again to kill off the game to make it Colombia 4-1 Japan that was the final scoring.

Japan gave it there best shot but this means they will not get into the last sixteen and will be going home but they did really well against some good teams in there group.

Spain came out differently from the other two game with Spain going back to most of the players that won the last World Cup, Including Goalkeeper Pepe Renia picked over David de gea, David Villa and this including Dropping Diego Costa who has been quiet poor for Spain, Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Ramos.

Which this time Spain came out differently with more of go to want to win the game after two defeat to very good teams, with another surprising team playing really good is Australia who is giving all there teams a run for there money, but Spain where able to come up with something.

Spain where able to put three goals past Australia that where not push overs and Australia where hoping onto the weak Spanish team that have lost both games, but it wasn't to be with Spain changing their team giving Spain back the edge in this game with the classics scoring to give them a win.

Australia played there best where unlikely not to score a goal, but where up against it in this game and try to not let in as many as they did with the gaming ending at the score of Spain 3-0 Australia.
The Spanish goals came from David Villa that started off the scoring in the 36 minute.

Who was playing his last game for Spain and only realised after he was took off and was quiet upset he didn't get to play the hole 90 minutes then started to cry, but was able to bring something to the game by helping them clam a win.

David Villa has scored seven of Spain's last 11 goals in the World Cup.

Fernando Torres was also on the score sheet who got the second goal in the 69 minute to make the score Spain 2-0 Australia and the third goal came from Juan Mata in the 82nd minute to end the game off to leave the score at Spain 3-0 Australia meaning both teams exit the 2014 World Cup, wont be in the last sixteen.

This means the 2010 World Cup wins of South Africa wont be winning this years world cup with so much expected from them, but with to many chances from the last time they where able to make it any further than the group stage.

Costa Rica 0-0 England

Coast Rica a team no one thought would do anything was smashing the odd by beating Italy and Uruguay which both good team with include Pirlo and Luis Suarez, also this means they secured there last sixteen play.

This is the last game in the group stage meaning this is a must win for England to have a chance to get through because if they draw there chance go down to slimmer, but it is still possible if the result end up right.

Costa Rica where not expected to score a goal in this group stage and would have been lucky to get a point, but now they are top of the group and this leaves only England to play them next knowing it is a must week game.

England have chosen Frank Lampard to be captain for this game, because it is likely this would be his last World Cup for England leaving Steven Gerrard on the bench but only for the first half and in the second half Steven Gerrad came on a was given the captaincy band from Frank Lampard.

Frank Lampard took control of the side really well with England getting some good chances to nick a goal with Luke Shaw playing his first World Cup game, also there was no Oxlade chamberlain still for this game, Who came to the World Cup 2014 injured but Manger Roy Hodgson wouldn't call in a replacement.

England had lost both games by one goal difference in each game but couldn't score enough to get there self a point or a win, England Manger Roy Hodgson keep the same squad for the first game they lost then he has changed some of the team for he last game and this is the same as the Spanish team that chose to change there as well after two loses.

England started the game quiet well with a team that have never played all together before, they played really well together against a very good Costa Rica side that haven't been beaten yet with England not letting any goals in but still where unable to score when they needed to in this World Cup.

England where up against up coming Arsenal player Joel Campbell how has tried to show he's worth and is hoping to score against England to make a statement of he's value to Arsenal and has Impressed some people.

England goal scoring record hasn't been as good as other country's, but have been able to score five goals in eight world cup games.

England where able to take a point from this game to take point in the group up to one and one thing England did was keep change there front 11 each time including playing Frank Lampard for the first time in this World Cup, also Adam Lallana, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling.

It was quiet a soft game compared to other games in this world cup both playing for different things with Costa Rica knowing they are into the last sixteen and England trying to get a win for this world cup in Brazil 2014, but the game was only managed to get a draw with 0-0, but I was a better result than other two games.

Now this means England have had more World Cup draws of 0-0 than any other country.

Yellows cards

England - Adam Lallana, Ross Barkley

Costa Rica - Giancarlo Gonzalez

Italy 0-1 Uruguay

Italy and Uruguay was not meant be a big highlight game of the group stage but did shock the Brazilian World Cup, with one Italian getting a nasty shock.

Italy wanting to win this game to secure there last sixteen place and Uruguay knew their was all to play for.

This game is mostly going to be known for not football and other reason to do with a Uruguay player.

The game started off with Italy pushing to get a early go to seal the game for them but they weren't able to get the chances into the back of the net and Uruguay where also able to make chances by nothing came from them.

Just before the first have ended Mario Balotelli got some tackles against him from the South American team Uruguay players and also got a booking that would put him out of the second round games, then was sub off at half time.

With the first half ending with the score at Italy 0-0 Uruguay.

The second half started with Italy not as attacking as they where in the first half in the game, Uruguay got some of the better chances at the beginning of the second half and Italy got chances after with them getting close.

In the second half Italian player Claudio Marchisio was sent off for a high studs challenge on the player Egidio Arevalo, that left Italy down to ten men.

Then just when it looked like the game was going to be a 0-0 game the game turned nasty.

Nine minutes from time Liverpool Striker Luiz Suarez clashed with Juventus Defender Giorgio Chiellini in the box, that appeared to show Luiz Suarez biting Girogio for no reason what so ever.

After this happened the Italian complained to the referee that he had been bitten and tried to show him the marks he got from it, with this Uruguay player grabbing hold of Giorgio Chiellini shirt that keep trying to pull up he's shirt on the shoulder where he was bit to hide it from the referee.

Giorgio Chiellini looked at the player angry with all the player arguing and Luiz Suarez at this was holding his teeth show that where hurting him after biting him, he told the referee they just came together and didn't bit him.

No card was shown for this acted that should have been a straight red with Suarez off the pitch and both team down to ten men, but this wasn't the case with Uruguay getting away a terrible act.

Then even with Giorgio Chiellini still complaining to the referee a minute later in the 81st minute with the game caring on Uruguay got a corner with Suarez putting a cross over with Diego Godin getting it and another player that should have also been sent off in the England.

Diego Godin was able get the goal from this in the 81st minute to steal the game from Italy that played quiet well and was unlikely to get goal against them a minute, before Uruguay should have gone down to ten men.

The Italians tried to get a goal back with the goalkeeper Buffon going forward to a corner near the end of the game, with the game finish Uruguay 1-0 Italy.

Uruguay knocked out the four time winners Italy out of the World Cup.

Luiz Suarez said after the match:

"I lost my balance, making my body unstable and falling on top of my opponent."

"At that moment, I hit my face against the player, leaving a small bruise on my cheek and a strong pain in my teeth."

"In no way did it happen the way you have described, as a bite or intent to bite."
